BJP leader Surendra Barwala’s son accused of rape, police registers FIR
The DCP said about the matter that the victim woman had complained in this regard, after which a case was registered only on 6 June. According to the DCP, the accused and the victim were in contact with each other since 2017.
An FIR has been lodged at Shakarpur police station in Delhi against Prashant, son of BJP leader Surendra Barwala, who has been a two-time MP from Haryana. Prashant has been accused by a woman of raping her with the promise of marriage and job.
The DCP said about the matter that the victim woman had complained in this regard, after which the case was registered only on 6 June. According to the DCP, the accused and the victim were in contact with each other since 2017.At the same time, the woman alleges that Prashant Barwala raped her by convincing her of marriage and job, which made her pregnant.
Prashant Barwala, accused of rape, is the son of Surendra Barwala. Surendra Barwala has been an MP on the ticket of the Indian National Lok Dal from Hisar in 1998 and 1999. He is currently in the Bharatiya Janata Party. Barwala joined the BJP before the 2014 assembly elections. He contested from Jind on a BJP ticket but lost.
Surendra Barwala became an MLA from Barwala in Hisar district in 1987 on a Lokdal ticket. Later he also served as Minister of State for Education in Devi Lal government.
