Pimpri Chinchwad Maharashtra : Dalit boy killed in honour killing matter, punished for loving upper caste girl

A 20-year-old Dalit youth was punished for love in Pune, Maharashtra. The girl’s family members killed the young man due to his caste. The accused killed the young man with bars and stones.

A case of horror killing has come to light in Pimpri Chinchwad area of ​​Maharashtra’s Pune district. A 20-year-old youth narrated the story of the cruelty he had in a statement recorded before his death. The name of the young man is Viraj Jagatap. He told his family that when he was riding a bike, a high speed auto hit him.

Relatives of his girlfriend ran after him and tried to catch him. Before he could seek help, the accused attacked him with an iron rod and brutally wounded him by stoning him.

Pimpri Chinchwad police has arrested 6 accused in the entire case. The deceased youth Viraj Jagatap has given the names of the youths. Four of the accused are adults, while 2 are minors. He has been sent to the Children’s Remand Home.

All the six accused have been arrested under sections 302, 143, 147, 148 and 149 of IPC. Action has also been taken against the accused under the ST / SC Act 1989.

Sagar Jagatap, brother of the deceased, said, ‘Viraj received a call from the girl’s family at 9 o’clock on the night of 7 June. The girl’s family asked her to come home on phone, they wanted to ask something about their love affair. When he reached his house, the girl’s family started abusing him. Disgraceful words like saying low caste were said. Viraj left his house. As soon as he came out of his house, he was attacked with iron rods and stones.

ACP Sridhar Jadhav said, ‘FIR has been registered. The girl’s father Jagdish Kaate spit on Viraj’s mouth when the victim’s youth was lying in an injured state. Viraj was asking for his life to be saved. Jagdish Muralidhar Kate did not show any mercy at all. He shouted at Viraj and said that you belong to a low caste, how can you keep a relationship.

The accused said, ‘You belong to the Mahar Mang community. You have no level How can you relate to my daughter. This painful murder has taken place in Pune which is one of the most educated cities.
