Malayalam director Jibit George dies at 31 in Kochi
Malayalam filmmaker Jibit George, who co-directed the film, Kozhipporu, passed away on Saturday (May 9) due to massive heart attack.
Young Malayalam director Jibit George, aged 31, passed away due to massive cardiac arrest on Saturday (May 9) in Kochi. According to reports, he was complaining of chest pain since Saturday morning but did not pay any attention to it.
In the evening, he suffered a heart attack and collapsed at his home in Kochi. He was then rushed to a nearby hospital, but could not be saved.
Jebit George’s sudden demise has come across as a huge shock to everyone in the film industry. Shylock director Ajai Vasudev took to his Facebook page to share a photo of the late director and paid condolences to his family in Malayalam.
The young filmmaker is survived by his parents, Angamaly Kidangoor Kalathipparambil George and Bensi, and his sister Jibina.

Jebit George made his directorial debut with his recently-released film, Kozhipporu. He co-directed the film with Jinoy Janardhanan. The film starring Veena Nandakumar released a few days before the nationwide lockdown was announced by the government to curtail the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Due to the lockdown, the film did not perform well in the theatres and was scheduled for a re-release once the situation eases.
