In a rare incident, a wolf snake with two heads was rescued from a house in Odisha. The video has gone viral on social media.
rare wolf snake with two heads was rescued from a house in Odisha on May 7. Susanta Nanda of the Indian Forest Service shared the 26-second video on Twitter and informed his followers about the rescue mission of the snake.
The rare reptile was rescued from a house situated in the Dhenkikote forest range of the Keonjhar district in Odisha. The snake, with two formed heads, wriggled on the ground after the rescue mission. It glided at a slow pace due to the weight of the two heads.
In the caption of his post, Susanta Nanda informed that the snake was released into the forest after it was rescued.
“A rare wolf snake with two fully formed heads was rescued from a house in the Dhenkikote forest range of Keonjhar district in Odisha. Later released in forests,” Susanta Nanda said in the caption of his post.

The short clip has gone viral on social media with over 12,000 views and 1200 likes while netizens shared their thoughts in the comments section of the post.

The phenomenon of having more than one head is known as Polycephaly. In most cases, polycephalic snakes do not live long.
Wolf snakes are nonvenomous and are found in Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka apart from India. It is a nocturnal creature and is inactive during the day.
