Kannada poet KS Nissar Ahmed dies at 84 in Bengaluru
Kannada poet KS Nissar Ahmed passed away at his residence in Bengaluru. He was 84.
Renowned Kannada poet and professor KS Nissar Ahmed passed away on May 3 at his residence in Bengaluru. He was 84.
He won the Padma Shri award in 2008 for his immense contribution to Kannada literature. He was also recipient of Sahitya Academy Award and Rajyotsav Award.
His notable works include Nityotsava, Manasu Gandhi Bazaru, Sanje Aidara Male and Manadondige Mathukathe. He wrote famous poems like On Sir C V Raman’s Death, Rain at 5 in the Evening, Gandhi Bazar Dawn and Masti. He also wrote several popular Kannada songs.
According to several media reports, he was recently hospitalised due to illness.
