Rishi Kapoor dies at 67: Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan lead Bollywood tributes to the legend
Rishi Kapoor died in Mumbai today at the age of 67. Akshay Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and other Bollywood celebrities paid tribute to the veteran actor on social media.
Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor died in Mumbai on April 30, Amitabh Bachchan informed in a post on Twitter. He was 67. Tributes poured in for the actor from several quarters as celebrities including Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu and Reema Kagti bid a fond farewell to Rishi Kapoor on social media.
Amitabh Bachchan, who has worked with Rishi Kapoor in the films Kabhi Kabhie, Amar Akbar Anthony, Naseeb and 102 Not Out, shared the news of his close friend and colleague’s death on social media first. “He’s GONE! Rishi Kapoorgonejust passed awayI am destroyed,” Big B tweeted.

Akshay Kumar also paid tribute to his Namastey London co-star and said, “It seems like we’re in the midst of a nightmare…just heard the depressing news of #RishiKapoor ji passing away, it’s heartbreaking. He was a legend, a great co-star and a good friend of the family. My thoughts and prayers with his family.”
Priyanka Chopra shared an endearing image with Rishi and his wife Neetu Kapoor, and said, “My heart is so heavy. This is the end of an era. #rishisir your candid heart and immeasurable talent will never be encountered again. Such a privilege to have known you even a little bit. My condolences to Neetu maam, Ridhima, Ranbir and the rest of the family. Rest in peace Sir.”
Taapsee Pannu, who worked with Rishi Kapoor in Mulk, tweeted, “Been trying to write something n I can’t put my mind n hands in sync. More like the heart in between is just not able to comprehend this. That laugh, that sense of humour, the honesty and even the bully he was, will be missed. No one like you.”
Other celebrities including Ajay Devgn, John Abraham and Reema Kagti, also posted tributes.

Rishi Kapoor was admitted to HN Reliance Hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday morning, his brother Randhir Kapoor said. The senior actor was diagnosed with cancer in 2018 and he returned to India from New York in September 2019 after his cancer treatment.
Rishi Kapoor, celebrated for his films including Kabhie Kabhie, Karz, Naseeb Apna Apna, Bol Radha Bol and Amar Akbar Anthony, was last seen in the web series The Body on Netflix.
Rishi Kapoor is survived by his son, actor Ranbir Kapoor, daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and wife Neetu Singh.
