Delhi Police has arrested the media in-charge of Jamia Coordination Committee, Safura Jarger. Safura Jarger is accused of mobilizing and causing violence against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Safura Jarger is accused of mobilizing women under the Zafarabad Metro station to protest against the CAA.

According to sources, Safura Jarger was also seen being involved in the protests at the Zafarabad metro station. The arrest of Safura Jarger has come to light when the Modi government has put a nationwide lockdown to prevent the spread of corona virus.

Let us tell you that the Modi government has enacted a citizenship amendment law in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh to give citizenship to the oppressed minorities i.e. Hindu, Sikh, Jain, Buddhist, Parsi and Christian community. This is opposed by other opposition parties, including the Congress party, and people from the Muslim community.

People of the Muslim community are telling the Citizenship Amendment Act against themselves. Also, this law is said to be discriminatory on the basis of religion. Some people also claim that CAA will lose citizenship of the Muslim community. However, the Modi government has clearly said that the citizenship amendment law has nothing to do with the Muslims of India.

The government says that this is a law giving citizenship to minorities in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. There is no provision to take away citizenship of anyone. The Citizenship Amendment Act has also been challenged in the Supreme Court. People also took to the streets against the protests in Shaheen Bagh and Zafarabad against the Citizenship Amendment Act. After this there was also violence in Delhi, in which more than 50 people died.
