Police is investigating
At present, the police have reached the Bel Air Hospital in Panchgani with these 22 people of the Wadhawan family from Mahabaleshwar. Police say that investigation is being done that if these people break the rules of lockdown, then strict action will be taken against them.
Appeal to the Governor for intervention
At the same time, politics over the matter intensified, BJP leader Kirit Soumeya has surrounded the matter with the Maharashtra government. The BJP leader alleged that how the Wadhawan family reached Mahabaleshwar from Mumbai amid the lockdown, was the government giving VVIP treatment to the accused of Yes Bank. He has appealed to the Governor of Maharashtra to intervene in this matter.
Meanwhile, a letter has come out in which Amitabh Gupta, Special Secretary and Additional DGP, Home Department, Government of Maharashtra, has allowed members of the Wadhwa family from Khandala to Mahabaleshwar on their official letter.
Wadhawan brothers accused in many cases
Actually, DHFL chairman and managing director Kapil Wadhawan (47) is under investigation against non-executive director Dheeraj Wadhawan in another money laundering case in which Kapil Wadhawan was arrested by the ED. But currently he is out on bail. At the same time, investigation is going on against Rana Kapoor in the YES Bank fraud case, in this case, under the investigation of money laundering, the Wadhawan brothers are also on the radar of ED and CBI.
Significantly, last month, ED had summoned the Wadhwan brothers for questioning in the Yes Bank case. Then Kapil Wadhawan had said in reply to the ED that ‘I am going through health problems. Due to the corona virus epidemic and my age, my already poor health is at greater risk. So it is difficult for me to travel to Mumbai. His brother Dheeraj Wadhawan also sent a similar letter to the ED.
