Finance Minister / Income tax returns and Aadhaar-PAN linking date extended to June 30, Nirmala said- Relief package for distressed industries soon
new Delhi. Due to coronavirus, there are lockdown conditions across the country. The government has started working on a plan to provide relief to industries in crisis due to the lockdown. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman spoke to the officials. He then spoke to the media. Sitharaman said that the Finance Ministry is working on the economic package and it will be announced soon. The Finance Ministry has extended the ITR return filing till June 30.
Government declaration for relief
- The interest charged on delayed payment of TDS has been reduced from 12% to 9%.
- The last method for filing income tax for the financial year 2018-19 was extended till June 30.
- The dispute also raised the trust scheme to 30 June. The date for the Aadhaar PAN Link also extended.
- Economy towards recession due to transition
Even before the outbreak of coronavirus, the country’s economy had gone into sluggishness, but with the outbreak of coronavirus, it is now expected to go towards recession. Apart from this, conditions like curfew in many states and lockdown in almost the entire country have stalled industrial activities.
