The Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) suspended women’s coach Atul Bedade on Saturday. Women players have accused him of sexual harassment and public shaming. The incident occurred during a tournament held in Himachal Pradesh last month. BCA Secretary Ajit Lele said that yes, he has been suspended with immediate effect. Soon the committee will be constituted and investigation will be started. There will be one member from outside BCA.
Bedade has denied these allegations. He said – All the allegations against me are baseless and factless. Soon I will put my side on it.
Atul Bedade was also the coach of Baroda’s men’s team
Bedade has scored 158 runs in 13 ODIs for India at an average of 22.57. He has also been the coach of the men’s cricket team of Baroda. He became the coach of the women’s team in April last year.
