The Maharashtra minister’s statement comes at a time when the IPL is less than a month away. It will be held from March 29 and in the first match at the Wankhede Stadium, the defending champions Mumbai Indians will face Chennai Super Kings.
Just a day before the minister’s statement, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said that the IPL will be held on the scheduled date and all possible steps will be taken to deal with the corona virus. Ganguly made it clear on the question asked in this regard that the IPL is ‘on’ and the board is ready to take all necessary steps for the smooth conduct of the tournament.
According to official data obtained by the Ministry of Health, 30 confirmed cases of corona virus have been confirmed in India so far. The ESPN report, quoting a senior BCCI official, said that the board is ready to take all necessary steps in relation to the corona virus following the government’s guidelines.
In this regard, all stakeholders, players, franchisees, airlines, team hotels, broadcasting crew and all the parties involved in this league will be asked to follow the government’s instructions to take necessary precautions and precaution.
The board has also said that players will be asked not to shake hands with the fans and do not click a picture from a device that does not belong to them. So far, more than 3 thousand people have died worldwide due to Corona virus.
Many sporting events have been canceled due to its increasing threat. The Olympic event has also been questioned about this, which is to be held in Tokyo, the capital of Japan, in July-August this year.
