Peshawar: The doors of the historic Golden Mosque here were opened to women after 24 years. This information was given by Pakistani newspaper The Dawn on Saturday. According to its report, for the first time after 1996, 15-20 women on Friday offered Namaz. This mosque is present in the cantonment area on Sadar Road. The mosque administration says that women will also be allowed to offer Eid prayers.
The Imam of the mosque said that this decision has been taken for the purpose of giving relief to women living in Sadar and other areas in view of International Women’s Day. In fact, until 1996, women were allowed to be present in the upper part of the mosque during Friday prayers. But later due to the increase in terrorism, women were stopped to offer Namaz in the mosque.
The woman said- this facility should be provided every day
The Imam said that now we have an open part, where women can offer Namaz. He also has a separate part for men. Meanwhile, the woman who came out after offering namaz said – I am very happy. This is a good decision. A similar facility should be provided for every day.
