The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh is considering a new population policy in the state, in which people having more than two children will not be able to take advantage of government schemes. UP’s Health and Family Welfare Minister Jai Pratap Singh said in a special conversation with India Today that the state’s population has crossed 20 crores, which is a matter of concern.
He said that some MLAs had raised this issue during the last assembly session. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed concern over the increasing population of the country during Independence Day speech in 2019.
Jai Pratap Singh said that due to the large population of the state, there is a problem in making public welfare policies. For this, the state government will make a new population policy. We all have to work together in this direction. He said that family planning is an important issue in the family welfare program.
Reacting to the health minister’s statement, UP Congress spokesperson Ashok Singh said that the government is not talking about the development and improvement of the lives of farmers. BJP leaders do such things to divert public attention from issues. He said that Yogi Adityanath government is going to complete 3 years, but has not done any work.
Decide on family planning, women
