Midnight hearing in High Court, order to shift injured to another hospital; Shah spoke to the family of the injured DCP

New Delhi: As many as 18 people have died in anti-CAA violence in north-east Delhi till Wednesday morning. Many people injured in Mustafabad violence are undergoing treatment at Al Hind Hospital here. Late Tuesday, a team of doctors from government and private hospitals appealed to the Delhi High Court to intervene. The hearing was held at the house of Justice Muralidhar. The judges who heard the trial included Justice AJ Bhambhani. The judges ordered the police to shift the injured from Al Hind Hospital to GTB or any other hospital amid security. On the other hand, NSA Ajit Doval visited the violence-hit Seelampur area late at night. New special CP of Delhi with him S.P. Srivastava was also present.
A forum appealed to the Delhi High Court that proper treatment of those injured in the Mustafabad violence was not possible at the Al Hind Hospital there. Therefore, patients and doctors should be sent to GTB or any other hospital under police protection. The petition said that Al Hind Hospital neither has adequate medical facilities nor there is no ambulance. Following this, the High Court issued orders related to the Delhi government and the police. On the other hand, Home Minister Amit Shah had a tephonic conversation with the family of DCP Amit Sharma, injured in Shahdara violence on Wednesday morning. Shah inquired about Sharma’s health from his family.
Judges took information over phone from the doctor of Al Hind Hospital
The hearing was held at 12.30 AM Tuesday-Wednesday. Justice Muralidhar was telephoned by a lawyer informing him of the violence in Mustafabad and the treatment of the injured admitted to the Al Hind Hospital there. This lawyer pleaded that the injured be treated at GTB or any major government hospital. The bench also had a phone conversation with Alwar Hospital doctor Anwar. The bench then ordered the Delhi Police to take the injured to GTB or LNJP Hospital under tight security. The bench will again hear the case at 2.15 pm on Wednesday.
Doval reached Seelampur
Late on Tuesday, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval visited the violence-hit Seelampur area. He first reached the office of DCP Ved Prakash Surya of North East Delhi. Here he met the officials. After this, Doval left for Seelampur. Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik was also present with him. Apart from those killed and injured in the violence, the NSA also inquired about the detained accused.
Amit Shah held three meetings in 24 hours
To overcome the riots in North-East Delhi, Home Minister Amit Shah held 3 meetings within 24 hours till Tuesday night. The meeting lasted for three hours till late night with the new Special Commissioner of Delhi (Law and Order) SN Srivastava. After this NSA Ajit Doval reached Seelampur to take stock of the situation. Violence had started in the early hours of Tuesday in several areas including the riot-hit areas of Bhajanpura, Ghonda, Yamuna Vihar, Chandbagh, Karaval Nagar. Injured started arriving at Guru Tegh Bahadur hospital from 7 am. Every 10-15 minutes, someone injured by bullet or stones reached there.
Violence was feared
According to officials, the Supreme Court negotiators in Shaheen Bagh were talking to people. In order to maintain the image of the protest in a peaceful manner, the script of violent protest was written elsewhere. Special branch sources have claimed that there was already speculation about Trump’s visit to India that the atmosphere could be intentionally spoiled. Police sources say external forces may be involved behind this violent incident.
