The former Indian skipper and current BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly took to Twitter to express his eagerness for the inauguration of the newly-revamped Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday (February 19). The 47-year-old Bengal Tiger responded to a tweet shared from the official handle of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) as the picturesque Motera Stadium’s glimpse was shared from the handle.
The newly-revamped Motera Stadium has been in the news ever since it was announced that the sitting capacity of the stadium will be more than 1,10,000; making it the largest cricket stadium in the world. While Eden Gardens (in Kolkata) had a staggering capacity during Ganguly’s active days, the former cricketer became nostalgic and tweeted, “Lovely to see such a massive ,pretty stadium .. Ahmedabad .. have great memories in this ground as a player ,captain ..grew up at Eden with hundred thousand capacity .. (not any more).. can’t wait to see this on 24th”
