Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal took oath as Delhi chief minister at Ramlila Maidan on Sunday. During the ceremony, he justified his government’s moves such as free electricity, water, and free bus rides for women by saying ‘every invaluable thing in the world is free’.
Kejriwal also sought blessings of PM Modi and vowed to work towards the betterment of Delhi.
Six others — Manish Sisodia, Gopal Rai, Satyendar Jain, Kailash Gahlot, Imran Hussain and Rajendra Pal Gautam — were sworn-in as ministers along with Kejriwal.
Thousands of people turned up to the oath-taking ceremony that began at 12:15 PM. But amongst the sea of AAP supporters, there was one individual who has been stealing hearts on social media for almost a week now.
On Delhi Assembly election results day, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) created social media frenzy after it posted the picture of a toddler dressed as Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
The ‘mini mufflerman’, as termed by netizens, was dressed up in Kejriwal’s signature style Nehru cap, a muffler, a maroon pullover, and a faux lampshade moustache. The picture of the child garnered more than 4,000 retweets and 32,000 likes. It also went viral on Facebook and Instagram.
The adorable kid, identified as Aavyan Tomar, was present at Ramlila Maidan today when Kejriwal and other winning candidates took oath. As expected, he once again stole the show. He was the centre of attraction as many people shook his hands, including party lawmaker Bhagwant Mann. Some were even seen taking pictures with him.
The young boy was invited by Aam Aadmi Party to be part of the oath-taking ceremony as ‘special guest’.
Around 50 people from different walks of life, referred to as ‘Delhi ke Nirmata’ by Manish Sisodia, were present on stage with Kejriwal during the ceremony. Ratan Jamshed Batliboi, the architect of the famous Signature Bridge and international tennis player Sumit Nagal were some of the prominent invitees to the event.
