Grand Finale: 140-day journey of ‘Bigg Boss 13’ ends, Siddharth Shukla becomes the winner of the show

The grand finale of ‘Bigg Boss 13’ was telecast on Saturday. Siddharth Shukla, who has worked in serials like ‘Balika Vadhu’ and ‘Dil Se Dil Tak’, was declared the winner of this season. He was given 40 lakh rupees as prize money along with ‘Bigg Boss’ trophy. Along with Siddharth, Asim Riaz and Shahnaz Gill also reached the top 3 contests. But he failed to beat Siddharth in the race for the winner.

6 contestants had reached the finale

6 contestants from ‘Bigg Boss 13’ arrived at the finale. Siddharth Shukla, Asim Riaz, Shahnaz Kaur Gill, Rashmi Desai, Paras Chhabra and Aarti Singh. But just hours before the winner was announced, Paras Chhabra left the show with Rs 10 lakh as part of the ‘Bigg Boss’ scheme. After this, when Eviction started on the basis of voting, Aarti Singh, then Rashmi Desai and Shahnaz Kaur Gill were out of the race. Among the last two contestants, Siddharth and Asim, the winner was announced.

The longest season in Bigg Boss’ history

The season started on 29 September 2019 with 13 contestants, whose finale was proposed in January. However, due to the increasing popularity of the season, it was extended by 5 weeks. The season lasted for a full 140 days until the day of the Grand Finale on 15 February, making it the longest season in the history of ‘Bigg Boss’. Earlier, the 8th season was extended for 28 days (called Hallabol). It had a total of 135 days until the Grand Finale.

The number of contestants was also the highest

This time the number of contestants was highest as compared to the last 12 seasons. A total of 22 contestants joined the housemates and wild card entries on the first day this season. There were 9 new entrants in wildcard entries and 3 were contested again after the entry.
