Ghaziabad: Woman cop murdered by 15-year-old daughter, friend on Valentine’s Day

The police have arrested a minor girl and her male friend for allegedly murdering the girl’s mother after she discovered about their relationship on February 14.

• On February 14, the duo met at the girl’s house for celebrating Valentine’s Day, however, the girl’s mother got to know about it and slapped her.
• The girl cooked up a story and called neighbours saying that her mother suddenly fell down and lost consciousness.
• Reportedly, the girl studies in tenth grade while her male friend is a sixth-grade dropout.

Ghaziabad: The Ghaziabad police, on Saturday, arrested a minor girl and her 19-year-old male friend for allegedly killing the former’s mother by throwing chilly powder into her eyes and then strangling her with a rope on Friday at their house located in Brij Vihar. On February 14 which is celebrated as Valentine’s Day, the mother got to know about her daughter’s relationship with her male friend and slapped her.

The deceased was serving as a head constable in the Delhi Police. At the time of the crime, her husband was in Vaishali in Bihar. He came back and lodged a complaint at the Link Road Police Station. In his complaint, he claimed that the man named Jitendra Kumar (his neighbor) along with his daughter murdered his wife. Reportedly, the girl studies in tenth grade while her male friend is a sixth-grade school dropout.

Mother discovers daughter’s relationship

On February 14, the accused met at the girl’s house for celebrating Valentine’s Day. However, the girl’s mother got to know about it and got agitated. She slapped her daughter in anger and then informed Jitender’s parents about the matter. Jitender was not present at home, therefore the mother asked his parents to tell him to see her at her residence when he comes back, a police official said.

Girl’s plan to take revenge

Meanwhile, the girl called Jitender over the mobile phone and planned to take revenge for the slapping incident by throwing chilly powder into the cop’s eyes. When Jitender came to her house, the mother slapped him as well. The girl went to the kitchen and got chilly powder. Both of them threw it on the woman’s face. She became partially blind and started to wrestle with them. After this, the duo fetched a grinding stone and hit her in the face. The woman fell down and the duo strangled her till she became non-responsive. The girl cooked up a story and called neighbours for help saying that her mother suddenly fell down and lost consciousness. She was rushed to the GTB hospital but she was already dead.

Girl broke down and confessed

The information reached the police and they launched an investigation. During questioning, the duo broke down and confessed that they were in a relationship and the girl’s mother saw them together on February 14. Based on the deceased’s husband’s complaint, the police have filed an FIR against the duo under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The police recovered the chilly powder packet, the grinding stone, and the rope.
