Bhajanpura murder case: Relative killed family for Rs 30,000, arrested

Delhi Police on Thursday said that it has cracked the case and arrested one Prabhu Mishra – a relative of the family.

NEW DELHI: A man was arrested on Thursday for allegedly killing five members of a family, including three children, over a monetary dispute in northeast Delhi’s Bhajanpura, police said.

The accused has been identified as Prabhu Mishra and is a relative of the family.

elhi Police has claimed to solve the horrific murder of five members of a family in Delhi’s Bhajanpura area.

Decomposed bodies of an e-rickshaw driver, his wife and three children were found inside their rented house in northeast Delhi’s Bhajanpura area under mysterious circumstances on Wednesday morning. The deceased were identified as Shambhu Chaudhary (43), Sunita (37), Shivam (17), Sachin (14) and Komal (12).

Delhi Police on Thursday said that it has cracked the case and arrested one Prabhu Mishra – a relative of the family.

Accused Prabh Mishra allegedly killed them over a dispute of Rs 30,000.

According to the police, accused Prabhu was deceased Shambhu’s maternal uncle. Prabhu had borrowed Rs 30,000 from Shambhu.

Shambhu had been asking for his money back which had led to a scuffle between the two.

The police said that they had nabbed Prabhu on suspicion, but he broke down during interrogation and confessed to murders.

The police had arrested Prabhu because of the information that he was seen around the house during the time of murders.

“Accused is 28-year-old and has been arrested from Delhi. He has said that he got into a fight with deceased over money after which he killed the woman and her children with an iron rod. Later, he killed the woman’s husband. Further investigation on,” Alok Kumar, Joint CP Eastern Range said.
