Kalki Koechlin welcomes baby girl with boyfriend Guy Hershberg
According to news reports, Kalki Koechlin has given birth to a baby girl. This is her first child with boyfriend Guy Hershberg
Kalki Koechlin, who had been sharing inspiring pregnancy posts on Instagram till a few days ago, has given birth to a baby girl. According to news reports, the baby was born last night through the water birthing method. This is her first child with boyfriend Guy Hershberg.
While the couple hasn’t announced the birth of their child, it is paparazzi Viral Bhayani who took to Instagram to reveal the news. Sharing a collage of Kalki’s pregnancy pictures, Viral wrote, “Congratulations #kalkikoechlin. She had a baby girl last night (sic).”
The official confirmation from Kalki and Guy is yet to come.
It was in September last year that Kalki confirmed her relationship with Guy Hershberg on Instagram. Sharing a picture in which she is seen with Guy on a beach, she wrote, “It’s always a Sunday when I’m with my favourite caveman (sic).”
Kalki shared a number of inspiring posts on Instagram during her pregnancy. In her last post, she talked about love and hate. She wrote, “Love and hate. Seems to be everywhere these days. A world wide debate. But I don’t need to look far to find it. I see this cycle of love and hate in my own family. We curse eachother and scream and shout and break things, until we ourselves break. Then we cry, feel the guilt and look down at our feet. We hug gingerly, love reluctantly and forget quickly until it is repeated again.”
Talking about how she was feeling while holding a life inside her, she wrote, “There are so many uncomfortable extremes that make us feel we must react at once and put a stop to it – slam the door, walk away, shout your way to the other person’s silence, unleash unthinkable acts of violence. But living with discomfort all the time, as I do now, because it is inside me and I cannot escape it, I have to be patient. My body demands it, my mind shuts down, my heart can only beat. If I erupt, it is inward and I alone feel the heat. I feel small, very small, from the sheer mystery and unfamiliarity of the grand workings taking over inside me.”
In an interview, Kalki revealed that she herself was born through the process of water birthing and hence decided to give birth to her child in the same way. The couple had also decided the name of the child even before her birth. The name is such that it works for both male and female gender.
Before dating Israeli musician Guy Hershberg, Kalki was married to filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. The ex-couple got married in 2011 but separated after two years. They got officially divorced in 2015.
