A woman YouTuber was allegedly heckled by protesters at Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh area after she was caught asking ‘too many questions’.

The YouTuber, identified as Gunja Kapoor, had entered the protest wearing a burqa. According to police, the protesters turned suspicious after the woman asked ‘too many questions’.

She was caught by some of the women protesters after they identified her as YouTuber Kapoor. The incident led to a commotion at Shaheen Bagh, the epicentre of protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

The police stepped in and whisked her away to Sarita Vihar police station.

As the police tried to bring her out of the protest site in Shaheen Bagh, a huge crowd could be seen raising slogans against her and asking the reporter for her reasons for concealing her identity to go to the anti-CAA protest that has become a flashpoint in the Delhi elections.

Who is Gunja Kapoor

Gunja Kapoor is a right-leaning political analyst. She describes herself as the curator of YouTube channel ‘Right Narrative’ on her official Twitter handle.

The channel usually features videos of Gunja Kapoor’s analysis of daily current affairs. The channel has videos like ‘Himmat Kaise Hui Kejriwal’ and ‘9 times Kapil Sibal told a lie on CAA’.

On Twitter, Gunja Kapoor has over 24,000 followers, which include Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP leader Tejasvi Surya

An alumna of Xavier Institute of Management, Odisha, Gunja Kapoor is also an Associate Fellow of Pahle India Foundation, which describes itself as a not for profit policy think tank. Gunja Kapoor’s past research for the think tank includes work on financial technology and ease of doing business.

Shaheen Bagh on alert

Women of Shaheen Bagh, who have been protesting against Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC) for the last 50 days, have been on alert after a series of violent incidents.

On January 28, a man entered the protest site with a gun. As per the eyewitnesses, he brandished the gun as he threatened them to vacate the road or else “lashe girenge”. He was overpowered by the protesters and handed over the cops.

However, later the man claimed that he was not aware that he had his gun when he went to the protest site and that someone else had taken it out of his holster.

Three days later, a man identified as Kapil Gujjar shot in the air while shouting anti-Muslim slogans near the protest site. He has been arrested and sent to police custody.

On Sunday, February 2, two unidentified men, riding a scooter, had also opened fire in the air near the protest site before fleeing away
