London / Oxford Hindi term of 2019 is ‘Samvidhan’, last year ‘Nari Shakti’ got place.
Oxford University Press has chosen the Constitution as the Oxford Hindi Word of the Year 2019. Oxford also explained the reason for this on its website. He wrote, such a word, which can express the nature, mood, atmosphere and mentality of the past year. Apart from this, it has been chosen because of its enduring cultural importance.
In January this year, the Oxford language website had asked for suggestions on this Facebook page from people who know this language and to choose the Hindi word of 2019. People got a very good response. Many diverse and good suggestions were found.
Nari Shakti was the Hindi Word of the Year 2018.
Nari Shakti was declared the Hindi Word of the Year for the year 2018. The word Nari, derived from Sanskrit, means woman and Shakti means power. It was said by the Oxford Dictionary that today this word is indicative of women carrying the burden of their lives.
26 Indian words included in the Oxford Dictionary
The new edition of the Oxford Dictionary includes 26 new Indian English words such as Aadhaar, Chawl, Dabba, Strike and Shaadi. This 10th edition of the dictionary contains 384 Indian English words. Launched on 24 January, 1000 new words like chatboat, fake news and microplastic were also included. Fatima Dada, managing director of Oxford University Press, told that 22 of these words have been included in the printed dictionary, while the other four have been included in the digital edition.
