Transport: The journey from Delhi to Mumbai will be completed in 12 hours, the expressway will be ready in 3 years
Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has said that Mumbai to Mumbai can be reached in 12 hours by driving with his car. Delhi-Mumbai Expressway project will be ready in three years. The cost of these schemes is 3.10 lakh crores. Explain that the Modi government plans to complete construction of three of the 22 expressways and green corridors in the country in three years. Gadkari said that the work of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will be done in 51 packages. Work has started on 18 of these 51 packages.
40 percent work allocation
An official of the National Highway Authority of India said that 40 per cent of the work of the expressway has been allotted and the tendering process for 50 per cent is underway. In the case of land acquisition, up to 90 percent work has been completed.
Highlights of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway
- Delhi-Mumbai will be the longest expressway in the country.
- The length of this expressway will be 1,320 km.
- With the help of this expressway, the journey time from Delhi to Mumbai will be reduced from 24 hours to 12 hours.
- The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is being developed with a new alignment between Delhi and Mumbai.
- The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway passes through the backward and tribal districts of Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
