Protests are going on in many places across the country against the citizenship law. Women have also come forward in Mumbai on the lines of protests over CAA in Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh. It is being performed here under the name ‘Mumbai Bagh’. Bollywood stars have also come forward openly regarding CAA-NRC. Some stars are in opposition and some are supporting. Now actress Pooja Bhatt has expressed her opinion on this.
Pooja Bhatt said that ‘I request the leaders to listen to the voices that are rising in the country. Whether we are living in the country in Shaheen Bagh or in Lucknow, we will not stop until we hear loudly. I will inspire people to speak more. I do not support CAA and NRC because it divides my house. ‘
Pooja Bhatt said that ‘differences are the best form of patriotism. We get a message from the students who are protesting against CAA-NRC that now is the time to raise voice. Our silence will not save us nor the government. The ruling party has really united us.
Apart from Pooja Bhatt, actress and director Nandita Das had also made her statement on citizenship law recently. Nandita had arrived at Jaipur Literature Festival and there she said on citizenship law and Shaheen Bagh that this is a law through which you can be Indian. Proof is being sought.
Nandita Das while speaking on CAA and NRC said that ‘this is a scatter law. This is the first time in the country that people are being divided in the name of religion. People who have been here for four generations, you are telling them that this is not your country, it is very disturbing. I believe everyone should speak up on this. People are speaking and there is protest everywhere. Apart from Nandita Das, many Bollywood stars including Anurag Kashyap, Anubhav Sinha, Swara Bhaskar and Taapsee Pannu have spoken in protest.
