India defeated New Zealand by 7 wickets in the second match of the five T20 series. The New Zealand team won the toss and decided to bat in the match played at Eden Park in Auckland on Sunday. He scored 132 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs. Chasing the target, the Indian team scored 135 runs for 3 wickets in 17.3 overs.
India defeated New Zealand in two consecutive matches in T20 for the first time. At the same time, he went 2–0 in the series, winning his first match by 6 wickets. The third match between the two teams will be played in Hamilton on 29 January.
Rahul hit 11th career half-century
Rahul scored an unbeaten 57 not out. This is the 11th half-century of his career. Shreyas Iyer scored 44 runs. Rahul and Iyer shared an 86-run partnership for the third wicket. Shreyas was caught by Ishi Sodhi at the hands of Saudi. Shivam Dubey remained unbeaten after scoring 8 runs. He won Team India by hitting six. Rahul was adjudged Man of the Match. Earlier, opener Rohit Sharma returned to the pavilion after scoring 8 runs off 6 balls. He was caught by Ross Taylor off Tim Southee. Captain Virat Kohli was dismissed by 11 runs. His catch was caught by Shiffert off the ball of Saudi.
Guptill and Shifert scored 33-33 runs
For New Zealand, Martin Guptill and Tim Schiffert scored 33–33 runs. Ravindra Jadeja took 2 wickets for India the most. Shardul Thakur, Shivam Dubey and Jaspreet Bumrah had one success each. New Zealand captain Kane Williamson could score 16 runs off 20 balls. Chahal caught him off Jadeja’s ball. Guptill hit four fours and two sixes. He shared a 48-run partnership in 6 overs for the first wicket with Colin Munro. Munro was dismissed for 26 off 25 balls. Kohli caught him off Shivam Dubey.
Grandhom proved to be a flop for the second consecutive match
Colin de Grandholm returned to the pavilion for 3 runs. Jadeja caught him on his own ball. They were dismissed without opening an account in the last match. Ross Taylor was out for 18 off 24 balls. Bumrah got Rohit caught by him.
