Jharkhand / Seven people kidnapped, feared murdered over protesting Patthalgadi; Police searching for dead bodies in forest

Sonua (Chaibasa). Seven people were kidnapped on Sunday in protest against Pathalgadi in the highly Naxal-infested Burugulikera village of West Singhbhum. The murder of these seven is being feared, including James Budha, the deputy head of Gulikera Panchayat.

Chaibasa SP Inderjit Mahatha said that police have been reported to have killed seven people. The police is conducting a search operation to find the dead bodies. But no body was found till late in the night. On the other hand, seeing the seriousness of this massacre, Chief Minister Hemant Soren can visit Chaibasa after returning from Delhi on Wednesday.

The incident occurred on Sunday in Burugulikera village of Gulikera Panchayat. It is a wooded area 32 km from Sonua. Two more villagers of this village are also reported missing, but this is not confirmed. After receiving the information about the killing of seven people on Tuesday afternoon, SP Inderjit Mahatha reached Lodhi with other police officers. Camping there with SP officials. On the other hand, a team of police is engaged in searching the dead bodies in the forest around Burugulikera village. A large number of police forces have also been kept in reserve at Sonua police station.

The family ran away from fear, took the seven to the forest

According to police, Pathalgadi supporters held a meeting with villagers in the village on Sunday. When they opposed Pathalgadi, the sub-divisional James started beating old men and six men. Seeing this, the family got scared and escaped from there. After this the Pathalgadi supporters took the seven and took them towards the forest. When these people did not return, their family reached the Gudri police station on Monday and informed the police. Police began investigation. Meanwhile, on Tuesday afternoon, the police received information that these seven were killed and the bodies have been thrown into the forest. After this, the police started searching for the dead bodies.

What and when done in three days

  • Day 1: January 19, Sunday: Patthalgadi supporters held a meeting in the village. Beated seven people.
  • Second day: January 20, Monday: The family members and others of the deputy chief who fled the meeting informed the Gudri police.
  • Third day: 21 January, Tuesday: SP formulated strategy. Went to the spot via Sonua.
  • First such incident in support of Pathalgadi

There have been several incidents in support of Pathalgadi in Jharkhand so far. But such a big incident has happened for the first time. After the information about the killing of seven people, there was a stir from the police station police to the district police administration. As soon as two and a half hours after the Gudri police station was informed of the killing of seven people, all the officers raced. Attended the verification of the incident. But till late in the night everyone kept talking about getting information about the murder. No one was ready to confirm. Everyone said that the police team was conducting a search operation in the jungle to find the dead body. Until the bodies are found and the police team does not return, nothing can be said clearly in this regard.

The team is gone, delayed due to Naxalite affected area

Gudri police station in-charge Ashok Kumar told- I got information at two and a half that seven people have been killed. Subsequently, information was given to the top officials. The police team has gone to the spot to find the dead bodies. The area is delayed due to wild and Naxalite affected. Until the dead bodies are found, not much can be told.

Police has been reported to have killed 7 people

Chaibasa SP Indrajit Mahatha told that the police is running a search operation. But the bodies have not been found yet. Police are aware that seven have been killed.
