New Zealand tour: Indian ODI team announced, Prithvi Shaw replaced injured Dhawan
- First ODI series between India and New Zealand in Hamilton on 5 February.
- 4 fast bowlers, 3 spinners included in 16 man ODI squad.
- Dhawan suffered a shoulder injury in the Bangalore ODI against Australia.
The BCCI has announced the 16-member Team India for the three-match ODI series against New Zealand. Prithvi Shaw has been included in the ODI squad as a substitute for the injured Shikhar Dhawan, while Sanju Samson will replace him in the T20. Navdeep Saini benefited from good bowling against Australia. He has also been given a place in the ODI team. India have to play three ODIs on New Zealand tour. The first ODI will be played on 5, the second 8 and the third on 11 February.
The BCCI had already announced the T20 team, while the ODI team was announced today. Shaw has not played any ODI yet. He returned to the team after a year. Shaw last played in the Test against West Indies in October 2028. Then he had scored 70 in the first turn and 33 in the second. Shaw had scored 150 off 100 balls against New Zealand XI two days earlier.
