New Delhi: Today is the birthday of noted poet, lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar. Javed Akhtar has been honored with Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, Sahitya Academy Award and National Film Award five times. Hindi litterateur Rangai Raghav also has his birthday on January 17th

He has written scripts for films like Deewar, Zanjeer and Sholay. He wrote lyrics for many Hindi films. Javed Akhtar has also been a member of Rajya Sabha. Apart from this, on 17 January, the first meeting of the Security Council, the principal unit of the United Nations, the highest body considered to be the guardian of peace and security, was held.
