Amit Shah meets top Delhi BJP leaders to shape strategies for Delhi election

In wake of the February 8 assembly election in Delhi, the core committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party met for nearly seven hours at the residence of Amit Shah on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday.

The meeting at Amit Shah’s residence, which started at 8 pm and ended around 3 am, discussed BJP candidates for the upcoming election in Delhi.

Among those present were Amit Shah, JP Nadda and Delhi BJP election in-charge Prakash Javadekar.

According to sources, candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly election were discussed in the meeting that lasted for nearly seven hours as the BJP leaders held detailed discussion on the names of candidates for about 45 seats.

Voting for the Delhi Assembly election is slated to take place on February 8.

List of candidates prepared by the Delhi BJP, names of candidates based on a central survey and public feedback were discussed at the meeting. According to sources, the emphasis may be on new faces this time.

The meeting will be held again on Monday to discuss the names of candidates on the remaining seats, sources have said.

Following the meet, the names of the candidates will be sealed in the Central Election Committee meeting.
